HOLY MASSIVE DOWNLOAD ANNOUNCEMENT BATMAN!

More than 30 bands were promised for the latest Download Festival line-up announcement, and more than 30 have been delivered. A titanic 37, in fact. And so now, courtesy of Metal Hammer for alphabetising them, here are all 37 in their respective glories.

So, Noiselets. Who do you think is going to be in this behemothic announcement? I'm lobbying for Marmozets, Gojira, Parkway Drive, Deftones, Rolo Tomassi, Enter Shikari...just off the top of my head. Time will tell. If you've got anyone you'd absolutely love to see, then let me know in the comments. 

I sort of expect Black Veil Brides to be present. It would be an unsurprising disappointment.

WEEK IN REVIEW; 10/12/12 - 16/12/12

So, in case you missed any posts from this last week (there weren't many, to be fair), this is the first of what I hope to instate as weekly round-ups. So heeeeere we go!

• theNOISE expanded into the realms of it's own social media accounts; I'm now on Twitter as @yesthisisnoise, and you can follow/Tweet posts using the above ^ buttons. Google Plus happened as well, but I don't get it so... Facebook and MySpace are to follow soon, and I have every intention to begin occasional vlogs, so a YouTube account may also see the light of day.

• Review-wise, I put out my views on new albums by Rolo Tomassi and Parkway Drive (btdubs, they're both great albums. What does btdubs even refer to?). I even got retweets from Rolo and PWD's shouty man Winston, which was awesome in a nerdy, internet way.
• And finally, because it was only a quiet week, the only news item I deigned to report was the addition of the mighty Mastodon to Download Festival 2013.

BADASS DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL NEWS

So in my eyes the lineup for Download Festival was already looking significantly badass, headlined by Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein and supported by, among others, Queens Of The Stone Age, Bullet For My Valentine, 30 Seconds To Mars, Motorhead, The Gaslight Anthem and Stone Sour. Then, these guys happened to the lineup.

 Being my absolute favourite band that isn't Muse (who will always hold the top spot), the addition of Mastodon to Download's bill is almost magnetically drawing £200 for a weekend ticket out of my bank account.

SHIT JUST GOT REAL QOTSA STYLE

Just take a cheeky gander at that photo. Look closely at the names. Dean's there, Shoes too, of course Josh is, Troy is on the right and OH SHITBISCUITS IS THAT DAVE GROHL'S NAME BY THE DRUM MARKER OR...

Josh Homme confirmed earlier this evening that Dave Grohl is drumming the new Queens record. This is the second bit of fucking amazing QOTSA news in a few days, after being confirmed for Download Festival 2013. Because remember that Dave drummed on Songs For The Deaf and everyone knows how good that album is and the ludicrous quality of his drumming. Go and listen to it if you've never heard it. In fact, this is a call to go and listen to it regardless.

Oh Dave, you've made me so happy.
